DESCRIPTION

The origin of the word rabbit comes from the Dutch language, namely konijntje which means "little rabbit".

It is mammals from the family Leporidae, which can be found in many parts of the earth. Rabbits breed by breeding methods called viviparous.

Formerly, this animal is a wild animal that lives in Africa to mainland Europe. In its development, in 1912, rabbits were classified in the order Lagomorpha. This order is divided into two families, namely Ochtonidae (a type of pika that is good at whistling) and Leporida.

From historical records, rabbits were first brought to Java by people from the Netherlands in 1835. At that time, rabbits had become ornamental cattle. In Indonesia, rabbit farming is divided into two, namely meat and ornamental farms.

In general, rabbits are divided into two types. First, wild rabbits. Second, pet rabbits. Included in the category of wild rabbits are hare (Lepus curpaeums) and pet rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Judging from the type of fur, this rabbit consists of short and long-haired types with a slightly yellowish color. When it is winter, the color turns yellowish gray.

According to race, rabbits are divided into several types, including Angora, Lyon, American Chinchilla, Dutch, English Spot, Himalayan, and others. Specifically Lyon is actually the result of an external cross between Angora and other races. But among ornamental rabbit breeders, the results of the crossing are referred to as Lyon or Angora imitation.
